The Eagle Cotton Mill was constructed in 1884 in the historic town of Madison, Indiana along the Ohio River. The building was vacated in the mid-1980s by its previous occupants and has remained uninhabited since then. Swell formed a development team to rehabilitate the property into an 85 unit Fairfield Suites by Marriott hotel that is slated to open in 2022. The developers are using Indiana state DINO tax credits, federal historic tax credits, and a grant from the city of Madison, all integral in making this project feasible.
